Travel to Kenya is Visa Free from 2024, this means that one can go to Kenya without applying for a visa but now they must apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization). Kenya is a beautiful destination whether you are visiting Nairobi or any part of Kenya, all foreigners must apply for the ETA.

What is an ETA?

ETA stands for Electronic Travel Authorization. An ETA is a semi-automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel. An ETA does not determine whether a traveler is admissible to enter Kenya. Immigration officers will determine permissibility upon travelers’ arrival. This means one can or cannot be denied entry upon arrival, as the immigration official will determine admissibility.

Who must Apply for an ETA?

All foreigners expect from country members of the East African Community. All foreigners including children under the age of 18 years must apply and for those under 18 years, the parents or legal guardian must make the application.

Note for the application you must show the travel Itinerary, meaning flights and accommodation. Kindly book refundable options.

In addition, feedback for the application takes up to 3 days and if one wishes for faster service there is an option for premium serve.

Where Can one Make the Application for the ETA?

Application for the ETA can only be made on the Kenya’s government ETA Website www.etakenya.go.ke. For those who plan do travel frequently to Kenya, you can use the mobile app Kenya Travel Authorisation” mobile app.

What is the cost?

Depending on the duration and purpose of travel the cost may vary.

Remember all applications must be done on the official website http://www.etakenya.go.ke/ or on the mobile app. Third party application will not be accepted.
