The Oktoberfest in München Germany is one of the biggest folk fest in the world!! People from  across the world troop to one of the biggest cities in Germany, Munich also known in German as München to attend the Oktoberfest!

The Octoberfest today enables one to enjoy German’s beer. Germany is the home of beer making and the festival provides the opportunity to sample beer made in Germany. It is also a great opportunity to learn major German songs and great hits through the years, as the celebration does include a lot of dancing and singing.

There is lots of fun stuff to do at the Oktoberfest!! Lots to eat drink, rides even for kids. It is a place for the whole family.

In recent days, the #Oktoberfest can also be celebrated in different locations across Germany. For example, the pic below was of an Octoberfest in Frankfurt celebrated on a ship, and we were lucky there was a full moon lighting up the sky.

Oktoberfest Travel Tips 101!!

  • Entry is absolutely free to get onto the Oktoberfest grounds.
  • Do not carry any drinks even water as security will ask you to leave them at the entry point before entering
  • If you want to sit in the big tents, buy your tickets in advance even 6 months in advance!!
  • To get entry into the tents if you didn’t have tickets, be at the grounds as early as 9am. Entry begins at 10am.
  • The Oktoberfest only runs from 10am to 10pm.
  • There are thousands and thousands of people from across the world, be prepared for big crowds
  • There is no parking close to the Octoberfest, park at your hotel and take the public transportation to the U-bahn Station clled Goethe Platz.
Use public transport to the Oktoberfest in Munich/München. The nearest stop is the Goetheplatz which is walking distance to the festival

The Oktoberfest normally starts mid September and ends on first weekend in October! The #2023Oktoberfest!! Remember it started on 16th September 2023 and ends on 3rd October 2023!! Have a blast!!
