Located on the shores of the famous Sydney Harbor, Taronga Zoo thrives as one of the biggest zoos in Sydney, Australia. The Taronga Zoological Park is definitely among the top places to visit in Sydney. In the Zoo you get to enjoy a magnificent view of the Sydney skyline and you get to see many animals including the Kangaroo, Koala bear, Asian elephant, the African giraffes and penguins!!
Established in 1916, the Zoo is also home to animals that are native to Australia. When visiting any zoo in Australia, it’s normal to want to see a Kangaroo as world over, It’s known to be only found on this continent. This Zoo in Sydney has ensured to satisfy your curiosity as it offers a pleasant surprise!!! They have lots an lots of Kangaroos.
Did you know there are different species of the Kangaroos? Taronga Zoo has the various species that are found across Australia.
The next breed of animals to look forward to are the Koala bears!!! What else do these animals do apart from sleep the whole day? Well.. you guessed it right, sleep!! These were the most fascinating animals at the Tangora Zoo in Sydney.
Another animal that is a native to the Australian is the Dingo. The Dingo is a dog breed that is natively Australian.

The Zoo is accessible by ferry and provides an opportunity to get amazing views of the Sydney skyline and a cruise on the Paramatta river. The best way is to walk to the harbor and take a ferry heading to the Taronga Zoo. There is a ferry every 30 minutes. The most amazing part is that you can have amazing views of the Sydney skyline, the Sydney Opera House and the Harbor bridge.
The Taronga Zoo in Sydney has everything for everyone: from the animals native to Australia as described above, giraffes in Africa, the elephants in Asia and even to Penguins in the Antarctica. Have I mentioned that there is water park dedicated to aquatic animals in the Zoo? Well, now you know!
The Taronga Zoo is amazing and a great place to totally experience what Sydney has to offer, also to take a tour around the world to see all the animals there.
Travel Tip 101
Wear comfortable shoes to enjoy the vast landscape as Taronga Zoo is huge!! The landscape can be described as rolling hills. So its either you are walking uphill or downhill. Also, after getting off the ferry, it is advisable to take the bus to the upper side, then walk to the lower side, that way you will be exploring downhill without much strain.
The Taronga Zoo in Sydney is a fun place to be. We really enjoyed the time there.
